www Bitmanager AG's application solutions show a high increase in effectively and cost reduction for customers. This can be observed in the areas business intelligence and ILM (Information Lifecycle Management) while using their own ETL tools and the SAND Analytic Servers, as well as SAND Searchable Archive Systems. As a result, verifiable result improvements "with a very high amount of data" are directly linked to our process.
To support this unusual pre-sales activity www Bitmanager AG put a test and demonstration server into operation. This server is operated with Linux and has the following capacities: four CPUs with 1.6 GHz, a total of 32 GB RAM and 3.5 TB SCCI panels with RAID-5-Controller as well as web cards with 1 GB/S and 10 GB/S. This computer was built for www Bitmanager AG by Herbst Datentechnik GmbH, Berlin.
DWH applications, using the SAND Analytic Server as a basis, can be carried out very quickly with this computer. Today these DWH applications feature up to 10 TB. The capacity limit of the demonstration system is about 40 TB (RDBMS equivalent). This system offers ETL processes for data entry and the update of DWH solutions which are several times faster than solutions offered by other companies. This process shows a better utilization of the disk memory (depending on data structure and content) and the increased performance in abstraction and analysis in reporting using all commercial BI tools such as Business Objects, SPSS, MicroStrategie, etc.
