Initial situation

The advantage of a portal consists of the integration of several applications and data sources into a single surface. Therefore any linked user can call up and use the required information at the right time. The customer acutely needed to expand an existing end customer and sales portal so that it contained the up-to-date as well as forward-looking functionalities of a qualitative first-class portal solution.

Implementation – from the ACTUAL to the TARGET situation

    Further development of two multi-functional application systems whose scope and functionality reflect future demands placed on end customer or sales partner portals. The use of Oracle in Version 9.2.0.x guarantees a quicker data transfer and excellent performance of the individual functions. PL/SQL packages on the basis of SQL scripts and the basis in the form of a WebObjects platform ensure that this portal solution meets future functional demands. These performance features include:
    • Forwarding mail from the database
    • SMS forwarding from the application
    • Batch-controlled data import from SAP systems
    • Data transfer to the data warehouse via FTP
    • Application integration and exclusion
    • User administration
    • Database interfaces to the central mobile telephone user database
    • Asynchronous interfaces to the ongoing reports of response times and availability
    • And much more.

The result

An innovative portal expansion with a forward-pointing performance range that went online with pride, and on the due date too.
